Experiment: Vertical Water Drops Test on Sample Instruments.
Equipment: Water Drip Experimental Equipment.
Tested Sample: to be put on the swivel table with a speed of 1r/min. The distance between the top of the sample and the water drip nozzle should not be longer than 200mm.
Experimental Condition: Drip Amount should be 10.5mm/min.
Time span: It should last 10min.
(2) IPX 2
Experiment: 15 °Water Drops Test on Sample Instruments
Equipment: Water Drip Experimental Equipment
Tested Sample: to be placed with one of its faces set at a slant of 15 °to the vertical line. The distance between the top of the sample and the water drip nozzle should not be longer than 200mm. Tests on one face after another four times.
Experimental Condition: Drip Amount should be 30.5mm/min
Time span: 4*2.5min (10min in total)
(3) IPX 3
Experiment: Water Shower Test
Ways:
A: Sway Water Shower and Splash Test
Equipment: Test on Water shower and splash with Sway Jet Tube
Choose a sway jet tube with the needed radius and place the sample on the testing table. The distance between the top of the sample and the water drip nozzle should not be longer than 200mm. The testing table should not rotate.
Experimental Condition: Water amount depends on the spray holes. 0.07L/min per hole.
Time span: Continuous showering for 10min in total
B: Spray Type Shower Test
Equipment: Portable Water Shower and Splash Experimental Equipment
Sample placement: The parallax distance between the top of the sample and the portable water drip nozzle should be between 300mm and 500mm.
Experimental Condition: Baffle plate should be set to balance the weights. Water amount is 10L/min.
Time span: Calculated according to the surface area of the tested sample, say 1min per square meter, 5 min at least.
(4) IPX 4
Experiment: Water Splash Test
Ways:
A: Test on Water Splash with Sway Jet Tube
Choose a sway jet tube with the needed radius and place the sample on the testing table. The distance between the top of the sample and the water drip nozzle should not be longer than 200mm. The testing table should not rotate.
Experimental Condition: Water amount depends on the spray holes. 0.07L/min per hole.
Experimental Condition: Water amount depends on the spray holes. 0.07L/min per hole. Splash area should be the cambered areas that slant 90 degrees from the centerline of the sway jet tube. The sway jet tube sways 180 degrees to the two sides of the vertical line, 360 degrees in total. 12s per sway.
Time span: Continuous Splashing for 10min in total
B: Test on Water Splash with Spray
Equipment and sample placement: The same as that of IPX 3 B
Experimental Condition: The same as that of IPX 3 B except that the baffle plate being removed away.
Time span: The same as that of IPX 3 B
(5) IPX 5
Experiment: Water Spray Test
Equipment: the inner radius of the spray hole is 6.3mm
Experimental Condition: The distance between the sample and the spray nozzle should be between 2.5m and 3m. Water amount should be 12.5L/min
Time span: Calculated according to the surface area of the tested sample, say 1min per square meter, 3 min at least.
(6) IPX 6
Experiment: Intensive Water Spray Test
Equipment: the inner radius of the spray hole is 12.5mm
Experimental Condition: The distance between the sample and the spray nozzle should be between 2.5m and 3m. Water amount should be 100L/min
Time span: Calculated according to the surface area of the tested sample, say 1min per square meter, 3 min at least.
(7) IPX 7
Experiment: Short-time Immersion Test
Equipment and Experimental Condition: An immersion box whose dimension should be able to allow a distance of at least 1 m between the bottom of the sample and the water surface when the sample is put in the immersion box. The distance between the top of the sample and the water surface should be at least 0.15 m.
Time Span: 30min
(8) IPX 8
Experiment: Continuous Immersion Test
Equipment, experimental condition and time span are to be negotiated by both the buyer and the seller. The test should be stricter than IPX 7.
Remarks: In addition, many out-door applicable electronic products are being highlighted for their floatation.
